What is Pickleball and why is it so popular?

Pickleball, often described as a combination of tennis, Ping-Pong, and Badminton, grew almost 40 percent in popularity over the last 2 years, making it America’s fastest-growing sport. And since life is better at Moore– we caught up and offer this fun, fast paced Sport to the Fort Moore Community! 

Pickleball is an indoor or outdoor racket/paddle sport where two players, or four players, hit a perforated hollow polymer ball over a 36-inch-high net using solid-faced paddles. Opponents on either side of the net hit the ball back and forth until one side commits a rule infraction.

Smith Fitness Center Offers NOW Pickleball on our indoor multipurpose court – every Tuesdays & Thursday during operating hours between 5 a.m. – 8 p.m. – on first come, first served basis. Get your friends together and head over to Smith FC – Equipment (paddles and balls) is available for checkout at the front counter at no charge!
