UPS Road Code

#
Note: This event has already passed.

The Middle School and Teen Center is offering a FREE driving program called UPS Road Code! It is taught by UPS volunteers based on the company’s safe-driving methods and provides teens with much of the same protocol required by UPS drivers, who are known for their safe-driving techniques. The program is a partnership between UPS and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and is available to teens between the ages 13-18 and other novice drivers. This Course will be offered on a Saturday each month from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and students will only need to take one of the courses offered (see schedule below).

During this one day course, students will focus on different safety principles, from basic instruction to the consequences of risky behaviors such as talking on cell phones, texting, or drinking while driving. The program also offers a reality driving simulation testing the students safe driving knowledge by using virtual reality headsets featuring interactive animation, voice commands and a variety of driving environments. Parents can also receive discounts from Liberty Mutual for youth's participation in the program. Youth will also have the opportunity to become an ambassador for the program and earn rewards and scholarships. See schedule below, for more information please contact the Middle School and Teen Center at 706-545-3070.
