We start Saturday with our annual cross country Lederhosen Leap 10K and Dirndl Dash 5K runs, sponsored by KIA Autosport, as well as our famous Volksmarch. Uchee Creek is beautiful by itself, but nothing better than an early fall morning run or relaxing Volksmarch throughout the day thru the wooded hills around Uchee Creek.

But - as the name states, it’s an Oktoberfest run! Dress up, Lederhosen or Dirndl – best dressed runner’s win an extra prize!

Not a runner? We offer something for everyone! Join us for our annual Volksmarch! Our Volksmarch is a non-competitive 3.1 mile (5 km) walk. It's not a pledge walk, it's not a race or run, it is a fun activity you do with a club, with your family, with your pet, or all by yourself.

LEDERHOSEN LEAP 10K sponsored by KIA Autosport

Lederhosen Leap 10K starts at 9 a.m., October 21 and is a competitive 10K cross country run; the route will take you through the wooded hills around and through Uchee Creek; the top three runners for each age group will receive awards; this run is not stroller friendly and mostly off road.

• Registration information:  Sign up September 1 - October 20 (closes at noon on October 20) on WebTrac or Smith Fitness Center, $35 per person. Late registration, on-site, increases to $45 per person, October 21, from 7 – 8:45 a.m.
  • Registration includes finisher medal,  shirt (guaranteed for the first 150 signed up runners), awards for the top three runners by age group, and a coupon for a free Bratwurst at the Oktoberfest.
  • Packet pick-up is the morning of the run on-site. Run check-in and registration tent is located near the Activity Center.  No refunds!

  • Fun Awards: Dress up in your Lederhosen or Dirndl, or any other cute Oktoberfest Outfit!  Best Dressed runner male and female, overall male, and female, oldest, youngest, and more.

DIRNDL DASH 5K sponsored by KIA Autosport

Dirndl Dash 5K starts at 9:15 a.m., October 21 and is one of MWR Sports Fun Runs; our Fun Runs are for the entire family, all ages, stroller, and pet friendly; the 5K route is a mix of road and dirt path and will take you throughout scenic Uchee Creek.

• Registration information:  Sign up September 1 - October 20 (closes at noon on October 20) on WebTrac or Smith Fitness Center, $10 for ages 5 and below and $15 for ages 6 and up. Late registration, on-site, increases to by $5 per person for each age group, October 21, from 7 – 8:45 a.m.
  • Registration includes finisher medal,  shirt (guaranteed for the first 150 signed up runners).
  • Packet pick-up is the morning of the run on-site. Run check-in and registration tent is located near the Activity Center.  No refunds!
  • Run the Dirndl 5K for fun! No registration is required and you will not receive a medal or shirt.

VOLKSMARCH

What is a Volksmarch you ask? A volksmarch is a non-competitive 3.1 mile (5 km) walk. It's not a pledge walk, it's not a run or race, it is a fun activity you do with a club, with your family, with your pet, or all by yourself. Volksmarching has its name from its origins in Europe. And since we bring Germany for 3 days to you, make sure you attend all the activities, especially since the Volksmarch is a free event.

Our annual Volksmarch starts around 9:30 a.m. on October 21 but there is no need to rush, you can march all day long, anytime you wish!

Stop by the Information tent anytime throughout the day, starting 9:30 a.m., to pick up this year’s Volksmarch map, march.  Take a selfie in-between and post to our social media (because we want to know how much you enjoyed yourself), and once you finished your march, come back to the information tent and pick up this year’s Oktoberfest pin!  If you marched every year, you should have a collection by now! If this is your first march – start collecting now!

The Volksmarch is a free event, no registration required, no stress, no hustle, bring the kids, dogs, neighbors, just have fun while marching!
